Job Summary
Reporting to the Foreman, the Lattice Boom Crane Operator will be an integral part of a 4-5 person team. Primary responsibilities include performing marine construction tasks, primarily from a barge. Key tasks involve:
- Loading and unloading materials
- Equipment handling
- Pile driving
- Occasional drilling and dredging
The role requires flexibility for out-of-town assignments and a willingness to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities and Key Duties
- Crane Operations
- Safely operate lattice boom, friction or crawler cranes for marine construction activities.
- Load and unload materials and equipment as required.
- Assist with pile driving operations, ensuring precise alignment and adherence to safety protocols.
- Construction Activities
- Participate in various marine construction tasks from a barge including dredging and drilling.
- Ensure safe and efficient handling of materials, supplies and equipment during loading and unloading from vessels.
- Team Collaboration
- Work effectively within a small team of 4-5 crew members.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Safety Compliance
- Strictly adhere to all safety procedures to minimize risk.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Participate in regular safety training and meetings.
- Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of cranes and associated equipment.
- Report any issues or required maintenance to the Foreman or maintenance team.
- Flexibility
- Be available for out-of-town projects as required.
- Willingly work overtime or extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Documentation
- Maintain accurate logs, reports and records related to crane operations and maintenance activities.

Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a conventional lattice boom, friction or crawler crane
- Certified Mobile Crane Operator
- Residency in the Duncan area preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid driver’s license
