Pay Range

$19.00 to $21.00 per hour

This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19 to $21, with additional compensation provided for overtime hours worked. The exact rate will be determined based on experience, skill level and performance assessment during the interview and probationary period.

Shift and Schedule

  • Primary Shift: Afternoon (Evening) Shift

  • Work Days: Sunday through Thursday

  • Shift Hours: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM (Midnight)

  • Additional Hours: Overtime may be required depending on production needs

  • Weekend Work: May be necessary based on project demands and deadlines

Our operations are structured to accommodate major projects and as such, flexibility in working hours, including occasional weekends and overtime, is highly valued.

Full Job Description

Position Title: Cabinet Maker / Assembler – Evening Shift

Start Date: Immediate Opening

Sponsorship: LMIA Approved – Visa Sponsorship Available for Qualified Candidates

We are actively seeking experienced Cabinet Makers and Assemblers to join our evening production team. In this role, you’ll be working with high-end architectural millwork – building customized cabinetry and furniture pieces for a wide range of industries including retail, hospitality, commercial and institutional clients.

Your work will involve crafting, assembling and finishing wood-based products to exact specifications, often based on complex blueprints or customer-driven modifications. This is a hands-on role suited for detail-oriented professionals who take pride in precision, craftsmanship and efficiency.

Initial Training / Onboarding

New hires will undergo a thorough onboarding program, which includes:

  • Training Period: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Duration: 8 to 12 weeks

  • Shift Change: You will transition to the evening shift after training; notice will be provided in advance

This training ensures a smooth transition into our production process, safety culture and team-based workflows.

Core Responsibilities

As a Cabinet Maker / Assembler at PSF, your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Custom Assembly Work: Build cabinets, shelving units and architectural furnishings using blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Precision Measuring and Joining: Ensure all dimensions are accurate before cutting or assembling components.

  • Tool Operation: Utilize both hand and power tools, including drills, jigsaws, routers, sanders and more to shape and finish wood.

  • Surface Finishing: Prepare wood for staining or painting by sanding, sealing or polishing to a smooth, professional finish.

  • Detail Checking: Inspect each piece for defects, imperfections or structural weaknesses and correct as needed.

  • Adherence to Standards: Maintain strict quality control to ensure final products match company and client expectations.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, engineers, project managers and fellow technicians to execute complex project requirements.

  • Material Handling: Lift and maneuver wooden components and full pieces (up to 50 lbs) as needed for assembly or transport.

  • Inventory Monitoring: Track supply levels and report shortages or material inconsistencies to supervisors.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures rigorously, wear appropriate PPE and report hazards immediately.

  • Workstation Maintenance: Keep your work area organized, clean and efficient to prevent delays and ensure productivity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in custom millwork or woodworking environments is essential.

  • Education/Training: Certification or formal education in woodworking, millwork or a similar trade is a strong asset.

  • Blueprint Reading: Proven ability to read and interpret detailed technical plans, sketches and shop drawings.

  • Tool Mastery: Confident in using saws, chisels, planers, routers, nail guns and other woodworking equipment.

  • Finishing Knowledge: Familiarity with surface finishing techniques such as staining, varnishing and sealing is preferred.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in measuring, cutting and aligning components.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work on your feet for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs and handle repetitive tasks efficiently.

  • Teamwork: Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a team-focused production environment.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to accept feedback, learn new techniques and work under tight project deadlines.

  • Shift Flexibility: Comfortable transitioning between shifts based on business needs (after proper notice).
